Given the reality of China's economic development and urbanization, this book studies the development of the private sector and the process of regional urbanization in the Yangtze River Delta region to provide a path for new urbanization throughout China.

Zhikai Wang is Professor of Economics at Zhejiang University, China. Wang had long worked for Jiangsu Provincial Government before he joined Zhejiang University in late 2002. He is a member of the expert commission of Tianhe Economic Research Institute in Beijing, China, and secretary general of the Centre for Research of Private Economy, China.
