Beschreibung
This book is an outgrowth of teaching the subject of " Optoelectronics Devices and Instrumentation" to undergraduate students of Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering for the past couple of years consecutively. A strong need was felt to put the syllabus matter in one book in a very systematic, pedagogical manner although a number of excellent books on a very well researched and mature topic like " Optoelectronics and Systems" are available. The book has been written particularly as per the UG syllabus prescribed by the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Odisha. It can serve as a text book for undergraduate students of Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and as a reference book for graduate students pursuing a course on optoelectronics elsewhere. To facilitate the learning process for a beginner, emphasis has been given to start from introductory field theory. Some of the salient features of the book are o A formal yet adequate treatment of field theory o A good number of worked out examples o Extensive analysis of step index and graded index fibers o Detailed derivation a number of mathematical equations o Combining of optical fiber based communication systems and instrumentation systems o Compilation of a number of optical fiber based sensors/instrumentation o Coverage of some advanced topics o A good number of references
