Beschreibung
The work deals with intermetallic iron aluminides, a material class with potential applications in high-temperature environments due to their excellent oxidation resistance. The research presented focuses on the oxidation mechanisms of different Fe-Al alloy systems, examining the influence of microstructure and alloying elements on oxidation behaviour. It highlights how different phases, such as Laves phases, interact with oxidation processes, leading to diverse oxide formations. The study employs advanced characterisation techniques to analyse these interactions to explain the selective oxidation behaviour of these materials.
