Zacharias Konrad von Uffenbach (16391691), a patrician and the mayor of Frankfurt, was one of the greatest book collectors of his time. Yet neither his collections nor personal role as a scholar have been researched. In the conference volume, these themes are addressed from the perspective of historiography, philosophy, the history of knowledge, paleography, and art history.
