Carl von Clausewitz (1780 - 1831) - was an officer from Prussia who spent the years of 1812-1814 serving to the Russian army. Later he became the writer an analytic, who made the radical change in the understanding of methods and strategies of war. While describing the Napoleon`s campaign to Russia, Clausewitz analyses the reasons of success of the Russian military leaders and for one more time proves his thesis that war - is the continuation of politics.
