Beschreibung
Polybenzoxazine resin, as a type of phenolic thermosets, is synthesized by the cationic ring-opening of the corresponding benzoxazine monomers without any extra initiator, exhibits a range of outstanding characteristics, such as excellent thermal properties and flammability- resistance, no production of byproducts, near zero shrinkage upon polymerization, low dielectric constant, and low moisture absorption. This book describes the preparation methods and characterization of several kinds of high-performance polybenzoxazine composites by using natural fillers, including chitin, Chitosan, and Crab or sea shells; ceramic micro- and nano-fillers such as SiC and AlN micro-particles and Si3N4, B4C, Cr2O3, and AlN nanoparticles; and Aramid fibers as reinforcing phase, for satisfying the various mechanical and thermal requirements of some engineering and military applications. The curing behavior, mechanical, electrical, thermal, water-resistance, and morphological properties were studied in details for the various fillers loadings.
