Did your granny carry a purse, pocketbook, handbag or clutch bag , Did she carry a purse on different occasions whether to match a pair of shoes,an outfit or a hat? A different purse would be carried in the summer, fall, spring or winter. I can remember the many bags carried by my grannies, mom, aunts, cousins and their many friends, some purses were passed down from generation to generation. I still have a designer bag that was carried by my Mom in the 1970s passed down to me to carry then my sisters carried it for awhile and returned to my Mom and now I have it again.
