Autorenportrait

Richard M. Lerner, Ph.D. is Bergstrom Chair in Applied Developmental Science at the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University. He is the author or editor of many publications, including theHandbook of Psychology, Volume 6, Developmental Psychology, andPathways to Positive Development about Diverse Youth. New Directions for Youth Development: Theory, Practice, and Research (Jossey-Bass). Dr. Lerner is also a past editor of theJournal of Research on Adolescence.

Laurence Steinberg, Ph.D. is Laura H. Carnell Professor of Psychology at Temple University. He is currently Director of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundatio n Research Network on Adolescent Development and Juvenile Justice. He is Past-President of theSociety for Research on Adolescence and is the author or editor of numerous books, includingAdolescence, Sixth Edition.
