'In Ghostly Japan' is a collection of essays and stories on Japanese supernatural folklore and spiritual customs. It was written by Lafcadio Hearn, an Irish-Greek writer, translator, and teacher who was the pre-eminent author in the subject, having lived in Japan and became a naturalized Japanese citizen. He is widely credited for introducing the culture and literature of Japan to the West.
